Keynote Session: Integrated Olefin Suite: The New Benchmark Performance for Crude to Olefins

The refining world today is facing increasing pressures from shifts in the market. While fuels demand is expected to decline in the future, petrochemical growth will continue. In addition, pressure on sustainability is increasing, with a need to reduce the carbon intensity of production routes.

As producers look to increase production of petrochemicals, they are also seeking increases in efficiency, both in terms of carbon footprint but also in terms of feedstock utilization. This paper will focus on a new technology suite developed by UOP which maximizes carbon conversion to light olefins, and reduces carbon footprint in the process. The technologies focus on molecular management, and staging the conversion of heavier molecules in a way that the overall efficiency can be maximized. Further, this paper will describe other low carbon solutions which can reduce the carbon footprint of the processes.
