Technical Session: Accelerated Development of a Flexible Crude to Chemicals & Fuels Technology

  • About
  • Speakers
Catalytic Crude to Chemicals technology (CC2CTM) is emerging as a catalytic route for directly cracking whole crude oil.  This novel fluidized catalytic cracking platform enables the direct conversion of crude oil into high-value chemicals (> 70 wt% olefins and aromatics) while retaining the flexibility to produce fuels to respond to dynamic market conditions.  The paper discusses the CC2C technology and the collaborative approach taken by Saudi Aramco, Technip Energies and Axens/IFPEN to advance the technology toward commercialization, highlighting key steps such as pilot plant testing, cold flow testing, design engineering and computational fluid dynamic modeling.
