Biography

Ziyauddin S. Qureshi is a Research Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Refining & Advanced Chemicals, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India. Prior to joining KFUPM as a Research Scientist, he was a postdoctoral fellow at KAUST and the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests focus on the development of new microporous and mesoporous materials as support such as zeolites, silica, alumina, silica-alumina etc. via compounding for customized applications such as steam catalytic cracking of crude oil to light olefins, thermal and catalytic routes to convert hydrocarbons, pyrolysis oil to high-value olefins and aromatics. Other projects he managed and contributed include naphtha aromatization and oxidative dehydrogenation of light hydrocarbons.
