Ahmad Alshammari is Associate Professor of Chemistry at the National Research Center of Nanotechnology at KACST

Biography

​Ahmad Alshammari received his B.Sc. degree (2001) in chemistry from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, M.Sc. degree (2005) in chemistry from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, U.K., and Ph.D. (2010) from Leibniz Institute for Catalysis at the University of Rostock, Germany with Prof. Axel Schulz and PD Dr. habil. Andreas Martin. In 2011, he joined the Material Science Research Institute, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Riyadh, where among other things his principle research field is mainly focused on the application of nanomaterials in various areas such as catalysis, photocatalysis, and energy. He was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2014-2016) with Professor Omar Yaghi. He is currently Associate Professor of Chemistry at the National Research Center of Nanotechnology at KACST. Recently, Alshammari obtained his MBA degree (2017) from the University of Oxford.  He published more than 20 articles and has 8 patents.
