Principal Scientist at CSIR- Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute
Dr. Ankush Biradar is working as a principal scientist at CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute Bhavnagar. He is also an associate professor at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in Delhi. Dr. Biradar obtained his Ph.D. in Catalysis from the National Chemical Laboratory Pune/the University of Pune. He then pursued post-doctoral studies with Prof. T. Asefa of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, USA, where he investigated the catalytic activity of various heterogeneous catalysts. Then returned to India and worked as Quick Hire Fellow (tenured track position) at National Chemical Laboratory Pune. Then, in 2016, he became a senior scientist at the CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute in Bhavnagar. His primary research focuses on activating C1 feedstock using homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. Specifically, various P-containing ligands, carbon-based materials, and mixed metal oxide catalysts were developed. He is also working on the utilization of biomass for catalysis and chemicals. His group is well-funded by the DST-SERB EMR grant, the CSIR, and the industry. Based on the work described above, he has 75 peer-reviewed research papers, 3 book chapters, and more than 16 international/national patents to his credits.
