Dr. Emad Al-Shafei is a scientist specialist in Saudi Aramco Research and Development Center, Dhahran. Emad held a PhD in Chemistry in CO₂ utilization catalysis from University of Huddersfield (UK) and his MSc and BSc degrees in Chemistry with Chemical Engineering with the same university. Emad worked in Catalysis Center of Excellences and involved with several research projects related to nano-zeolite catalysts for oil and heavy residues cracking to olefin. He worked with CO₂ utilization catalysts development for propane dehydrogenation assisted by CO₂, direct reaction of CO₂ with C1-C3, dry reforming, CO₂ activation using SOFC, CO₂ hydrogenation to methane. Emad has 16 publications and 25 granted patents.
