Biography

Dr. Jonathan S.C. Low is the Research Division Director of the Sustainability and Life Cycle Engineering Division at A*STAR’s SIMTech. In this role, he is responsible for charting the R&D directions and driving the development of capabilities in the areas of life cycle assessment (LCA) and costing for techno-environmental-economic analysis, innovation of sustainable manufacturing processes, and smart systems and tools for optimising resource efficiency, business model innovation and design. On top of this role, Jonathan holds an appointment as SIMTech’s Coordinating Director to strategise and synergise efforts across the institute to drive the overarching theme of Towards Net Zero Manufacturing. Besides his R&D and strategic planning work, he is also actively contributing to the development of international standards through his roles as the chairperson of the Technical Committee on Environmental Management under the Singapore's Environment and Resources Standards Committee (ESRC), and as an expert member representing Singapore in ISO TC 323 Circular Economy.
