KAUST Research Conference: New Challenges in Heterogeneous Catalysis

conf-group-pictureThe KAUST Catalysis Research Center organized the third KAUST Research Conference, "New challenges in heterogeneous catalysts", which took place from 29 to 31 January, 2018. This prestigious international conference brought together members of the global scientific community to discuss and share ideas in the field of Catalysis.

Prof. Jean M.J. Fréchet opened the session by welcoming everyone and thanking Prof. Jean-Marie Basset for his efforts to build up Kaust Catalysis Center from scratch. 2018-01-29 KCC-6

Researchers, scientists and students from all over the world gathered to share new experiences and ideas and to discuss heterogeneous catalysis challenges. This involved the design of new processes, development of new chemistry and catalytic materials, and the understanding of catalytic processes at a higher level. The KCC conference focused on the activation of small molecules, particularly methane and carbon dioxide.

The KAUST Research Conference was highlighted by the participation of leading women in the field of Catalysis.
