Research Interests

A novel one-pot copolymerization reaction of an olefin including ethylene in the presence of Pd-diimine catalyst is an effective method to synthesize polyfunctional hyperbranched polymer. The terminal polar groups within the polymer are reactive for further polymerization reactions like ATRP and ROP. The effective macroinitiators can be used to synthesize core-shell structured with a hyperbranched polyethylene core grafted with side chains of polar monomers. Unlike dendrimers that often require tedious synthetic procedures, hyperbranched polymers are more easily produced in large scale, which reduce the cost of preparing and increase the overall scale in the industry.
