Research Interests

My research aims at improving the understanding of pincer complex reactions with the purpose being able to systematically improve and design new pincer catalysts. Specifically, I employ spectroscopic techniques, including Flash Photolysis and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, to study reactions in situ and ex situ combined with DFT calculations to identify reasonable reaction mechanisms and acquire fundamental knowledge about the role of the pincer ligand and the metal center.
