Muhammad's research interest include developing novel approaches to photocatalysis for energy conversion

  • photocatalytic water splitting, specifically using visible light irradiation
  • improving solar energy conversion technologies by developing an economical, scalable, and highly efficient photocatalyst

transitioning from an unsustainable carbon cycle to a sustainable solar fuel economy
